"I had the pleasure of staying 5 nights at the new boutique hotel Veritas in Cambridge adjacent to the Harvard campus. The hotel reminded me of my stays on the left bank of Paris..."

"I found The Veritas an oasis of tranquility..."

"...A great hip-yet-chilled feel."

These are just some of the accolades received since the opening of The Hotel Veritas. Setting The Space was chosen to be the sole design company for this brand new uber-boutique hotel which was completed in 2010.

The hotel was built on the spot of a razed grande dame residence and its carriage house. The hotel architect cleverly combined both in his design by having the main entrance be through a carriage house facade. The facade quickly dissolves once inside into a state of the art, posh hotel.

Setting The Space was responsible for the exterior color palette as well as all inside palettes, finishes, flooring, furniture and textiles. Opulent wall coverings, soothing fabrics, as well as sumptuous Italian bedding have made this "the" place to stay in Cambridge.

Setting The Space worked for 2 years researching and designing the spaces within Veritas. For the bathrooms Setting The Space chose honed Belgian white limestone combined with fossil azul marble to make guests feel pampered in their own little spa bathrooms. The crowning touch in the bathrooms would be the two diamond ring-like Swarovski crystal faucets in Cerulean blue. A hot and cold marriage made in heaven!

Setting The Space created a lobby redolent of an old French chateau turned in to a hip lounge with a decided vibe. Hand made wall coverings created for Setting The Space combine with more Belgian white limestone to set a worldly tone in the guest lobby. Actual antique stone floor pavers from an 18th century French chateau were shipped by boat from France and landed on the lobby floor. Art commissioned by a local artist complete the juxtaposing of old and new. Add music and libations and one is truly in heaven!

As both specifiers as well as designers, Setting The Space worked with architects, engineers and contractors to create a beautiful respite from the real world.

Imagine slipping into the luxe bed in this picture after a weary day of traveling or meetings or whatever brings one to Cambridge! THIS is Hotel Veritas...
